Li’l Abner                                      May 4 – May 22, 2011
Book by Norman Panama and Melvin Frank; Based on Characters Created by Al Capp;
Original Direction and Choreography by Michael Kidd; Lyrics by Johnny Mercer; Music by Gene de Paul

Al Capp's world famous characters have been placed in an upbeat musical extravaganza.  It is a satisfying mixture of down-home nonsense and sharp, critical humor that appeals to the sophisticated theatregoer as well as the child within us all.  The great songs include:  “I’m Past My Prime”, ”The Country’s In The Very Best of Hands”, and the hilarious, “Jubilation T. Cornpone”!

God’s Favorite                               June 1 – June 19, 2011
By Neil Simon

Successful Long Island businessman Joe Benjamin is a modern-day 'Job' with a high-maintenance wife, ungrateful children and wise-cracking household help.  JJust when it seems things couldn't get any worse, he is visited by Sidney Lipton aka A Messenger from God (and compulsive film buff) with a mission: test Joe's faith and report back to "the Boss". The jokes and Tests of Faith fly fast and furious as Neil Simon spins a contemporary morality tale like no other in this hilarious comedy.

42nd Street                                      July 6 – July 24, 2011
Music by Harry Warren ;Lyrics by Al Dubin; Book by Michael Stewart & Mark Bramble;
Based on the Novel by Bradford Ropes
Original Direction and Dances by Gower Champion;  Originally Produced on Broadway by David Merrick

This is the story of hard work, being in the right place at the right time, talent and love. 42nd Street is a celebration of Broadway and the people involved in shows. It focuses on aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer, and takes us along her journey.  Musical hits include: “We're In the Money”,” Lullaby of Broadway”, “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and “Forty-Second Street”.   Every audience enjoys watching the underdog succeed!

Art of Murder                            August 10 – August 28, 2011
By Joe DiPietro

2000 Edgar Award Winner for Best Mystery Play.  A scintillating hit with thrills and chills and some wonderful humor.  It will have you laughing and guessing who is to be murdered and who is the murderer. With his usual flair for the outrageous, a sure knowledge of artistic egos and an understanding of the mystery genre as certain as his skill at comedy, Mr. DiPietro has created an insular world in which greed and vengeance and personal recognition are free to play with the sanity and the lives of everyone involved.  Art of Murder takes the audience on a funhouse roller-coaster ride.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
September 7 – September 25, 2011

Music and Lyrics by William Finn; Book by Rachel Sheinkin

This is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime.  The show's Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.  The hysterical tunes include:  “My Friend, The Dictionary”, “I’m Not That Smart” and “I Speak Six Languages”.
