Tim Perrino Artistic Director 2007 marks the 27th summer season of Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre. As director and founder of the program, Tim’s credits include: Footloose!, Anything Goes, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Oklahoma!, 42nd Street, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Li’l Abner, Children of Eden and 20 more shows.
On November 12, 2001, Tim was proud to accept the prestigious Cincinnati Post/Corbett Award for CYPT as the Outstanding Arts Organization in the area.
2007 is also Tim’s 17th season at the helm of the Showboat Majestic, Cincinnati’s floating, National Historic Landmark theatre. As a director, Tim’s Showboat credits include: Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Kiss Me Kate, Nunsense 2, and many, many more!
Regionally, Tim’s directed in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois, including (for the last 19 years) the annual Youth Sing Praise performance at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, near St. Louis, Missouri.
Tim (with Doug Ridenour and a cast of thousands) has shepherded the development of the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, from a vision and a promise to the reality of a dazzling new, professional theatre. This 1940’s era movie house has been revitalized into a new showplace which serves as the home for the Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre and the winter home for a successful subscription series. Now in its fifth year, the Covedale boasts nearly 3000 subscribers and a growing reputation as the area’s newest and most exciting venue for the performing arts.
Most important of all, he thanks his wife Jennifer for her constant love and support.
Jennifer Perrino Business Manager has never
left the west side! Jennifer spent her high school days working at
the old Covedale Cinema! Among wearing the required "other hats"
she monitors budget, handles payroll, requests the rights to produce
and so much more for o9ur ever growing theatrical organization! She's
been employed by our award-winning organization as Resident Choreographer
from '86 to '00 and held the same position aboard the Showboat Majestic from '91 - '00. She moved into the role of Business Manager in '00
and has been there ever since! However, at the request of her director
husband, she's count out of "hoofer retirement" to work
on his production of A Christmas Carol. Some of Jen's favorite
choreography credits include: Jesus Christ Superstar, Li'l
Abner, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Company, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Children
of Eden, Oklahoma!, Annie Get Your Gun, The
Wizard of Oz, Godspell, Cinderella, Camelot, Hello Dolly!, and Big River. Most recently, Jennifer
was a talent coordinator on behalf of our organization for the Cincinnati
Zoo's Festival of Lights.
Denny Reed Technical Director/Production Manager received a BFA degree in Theatre from Northern Kentucky University.
Since then, he has worked for numerous arts organizations in Cincinnati
including Contemporary Dance Theatre, Shawn Womack Dance Projects
and The Cincinnati Commission on the Arts. Denny began working aboard
the Showboat Majestic in 1991 and has held the position(s)
of Managing Director, Director (Cinderella, Guys and
Dolls, How to Succeed, 110 in the Shade, Meet
Me in St. Louis) Producer, Lighting Designer, and Technical Director.
Denny, another long-time West-sider and Elder grad, lives in Price
Hill.
Matt Lape (Production Manager/ Master Carpenter)
Matt is our most recent full-time staffer! Matt makes sure the sets are built to the designer's specs, coordinates all the production schedules and is the one responsible for keeping the boat afloat whilst the river is rising. Matt previously worked for the grounds crew at Paul Brown Satdium.
