Tim Perrino Artistic Director
2012 will mark the 31st summer season of Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre. As director and founder of the program, Tim’s credits include: Footloose!, Anything Goes, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Oklahoma!, 42nd Street, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Li’l Abner, Children of Eden, Les Miserables, The Wedding Singer and 20 more shows.
On November 12, 2001, Tim was proud to accept the prestigious Cincinnati Post/Corbett Award for CYPT as the Outstanding Arts Organization in the area.
2012 is also Tim’s 22nd season at the helm of the Showboat Majestic, Cincinnati’s floating, National Historic Landmark theatre. As a director, Tim’s Showboat credits include: Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Kiss Me Kate, Nunsense 2, and many, many more!
Regionally, Tim’s directed in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois, including (for 19 years) the annual Youth Sing Praise performance at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, near St. Louis, Missouri.
Tim (with Doug Ridenour and a cast of thousands) has shepherded the development of the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, from a vision and a promise to the reality of a dazzling new, professional theatre. This 1940’s era movie house has been revitalized into a new showplace which serves as the home for the Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre and the winter home for a successful subscription series. Now in its 11th year, the Covedale boasts over 3600 subscribers and a growing reputation as the area’s most exciting venue for the performing arts.
Most important of all, he thanks his wife Jennifer for her constant love and support.
